Praying mantis painted leather coat. I left the silhouette of a praying mantis on the back and painted the rest of the coat around it. I combined Posca markers and leather paint as the two mediums for this project. I tried to paint the same colors as a praying mantis. The natural lines that cut the coat in half mimic the abdomen area of a praying mantis. I tried to recreate the same look as the insect. I was inspired to paint a praying mantis because it was the spirit animal of someone close to me at that time.
